The Space is a welcoming coworking community designed by a woman for women-identifying freelancers, remote workers, entrepreneurs, and students.

Whether you’re here to work, study, build your business, focus on self-care, or connect with like-minded women, you’ll find a peaceful and supportive environment to do it all.

Our mission is simple: to create a space where women can grow (personally and professionally) while feeling supported in community.

Affordability

Our goal was to create a cost-effective office space for wellness entrepreneurs, remote workers, busy moms who need a space to work and relax, students, small business owners, and service providers.

Utilizing a coworking space is much more affordable than renting an entire office for your wellness practice. Especially if you are starting your business and hoping to keep the operating costs minimal. With amenities like discounted yoga and sound healing next door, free drinks, free parking, and business supplies, you can save even more!

Convenience

The Space is conveniently located on the Southeast side of Grand Rapids. There is plenty of FREE parking for you and your clients. We provide massage tables and other props for 1-on-1 sessions and small events. Members can book the Community room in advance to fit their schedule. The Space offers a limited amount of marketing to help you be discovered by potential clients.

We offer month-to-month membership and yearly membership options, with a 45-day cancellation policy.

Connection and Collaboration Opportunities

Connection and socializing are such important aspects of life, often missing if you are a solopreneur, remote worker, or have a home office. Burnout has become a common challenge in the workplace, and we believe authentic connection and peer support are powerful ways to prevent it and increase quality of life. Our members work in wellness, social justice, business development, design, coding, marketing, and more. Perhaps you’ll meet your next collaborator at The Space.

Attend a monthly coworker meetup and host your own gathering. Our current events are designed around peer-to-peer coaching, personal development, slowing down, and getting vulnerable.

Hey there! I'm Becky.

I’m the founder of The Space, a women+ coworking community in Grand Rapids, MI. I’m also a mom to three teenage boys and a spoiled dog named Ruby Moon, my only “girl.”

I created The Space because I believe women+ people need places to go where they can just be around other women.

Not because we need to network, sell each other something or because we need to show up perfectly and have it all figured out. (That’s not the vibe at all.)

But because sometimes you need to get out of the house, sit around other people, have a conversation, laugh about something ridiculous, talk about something hard, get some work done, or maybe even make a friend.

I needed a place that felt welcoming and comfortable. A place where you could work on your business but also have a little human connection during your day. A place where you could show up exactly as you are. (Jammies, bra, no bra, dressed up, whatever!)

That idea became The Space.

Since opening in 2021, I’ve watched it become so much more than a coworking space. It’s become a community. Women have made friends here, started businesses, supported each other through hard seasons, celebrated big wins, cried in the hallway, shared meals, collaborated on projects, and sometimes just sat together and talked about life.

That’s my favorite part!

My own career has taken a few different turns over the years. I’m now a Mental Health Therapist (LLMSW) and Reiki Master, and so much of my work has centered around helping people slow down, reconnect with themselves, and feel more grounded in this fast-paced world. That same idea is at the heart of The Space.

We aren’t meant to do life alone.

We need community. We need connection. We need people who understand what it’s like to build something, raise kids, change careers, start over, figure things out, or just get through another day.

And sometimes, we need somewhere else to go where we know there will be other women there.

That’s what I wanted The Space to be.

If you’ve been looking for a place to work, connect, meet some really great women+ folks, or simply get out of the house and be around people, I’d love for you to come see us.

Schedule a tour online, call 616-284-1333, or email me. Let me show you around and share more about this special community.
